Coming Up: Midtown Sounds 2022

Midtown Sounds 2022

It’s music to our ears! Midtown Sounds 2022 will be shaking things up at Southern Station this Saturday, May 7th, at 5 p.m. featuring The Lone Bellow.

Midtown Sounds

Midtown Sounds 2022 is a free all-ages concert hosted by Visit Hattiesburg, Ardenland and Midtown Merchants Association. This musical festival brings together residents and visitors alike. It is sure to be a fun night of live music, good food and good people!

This year’s headliner is The Lone Bellow. They’re a contemporary folk-rock group with deep Southern roots. Check out one of their original songs, “Green Eyes and a Heart of Gold,” now for a taste of what’s to come Saturday evening.

Local band, Taste of 59 South, will be the openers for Midtown Sounds 2022. Self-described as “vivacious meets funk” and “soulful meets jazz,” it sounds like you won’t want to miss them live.

So, bring your chairs, your blankets and maybe your mother to midtown to kick-off a weekend of celebrating!

More about The Lone Bellow

The Lone Bellow is a trio like no other. Featuring guitarist Brian Elmquist, lead vocalist Zach Williams and multi-instrumentalist Kanene Donehey Pipkin, the “earthy three-part harmonies” and provocative songwriting will transport you to another place and time.

The group recently released a new album, “Half Moon Light,” which is described on their website as a “complex ode to memory, a call for hope, and an exercise in empathy.”

Now, they are bringing their heartfelt harmonies to the Hub City for an inspiring night of live music and more.

Midtown Sounds 2022 will take to the stage at Southern Station, located in Spirit Park on the University of Southern Mississippi’s campus. Festivities will rock on from 5 to 9 p.m. However, the earlier you arrive the better. Seating is first-come, first-served.

In case you didn’t know, Summer West Apartments is less than three miles from USM’s Spirit Park off West Memorial Drive. That means you can enjoy a free evening of good music and good times after about a seven-minute drive! For more cool community events and news, keep reading our blogs!
