It’s almost been a year since word of a $40 million Jones headquarters in midtown Hattiesburg was announced. After a groundbreaking ceremony last month, the project is officially underway!
What to know
Last December, news of the upcoming Jones headquarters in Midtown Hattiesburg sparked excitement. This September, the project finally took another step forward.
State officials and community leaders broke ground on the future site of the new headquarters. The facility will be built in The District at Midtown, a mixed-use development off Hardy Street.
More specifically, the 80,000-square-foot building will be located across the street from the University of Southern Mississippi’s campus.
Construction is expected to begin this fall with a projected occupancy date in the fall of 2024. Plans for the headquarters include four floors plus three large balconies overlooking beautiful landscaping.
There will be up to eight conference rooms along with a talent development center, a glass atrium and a promenade. The promenade hopes to give The District at Midtown a park-like feel.
